How to Create Your Own Dinosaur Invitations
Dinosaurs capture the imaginations of many children, and it is not uncommon for kids to request a dinosaur-themed birthday party. Although you could just purchase invitations with pictures of dinosaurs on them, making dinosaur invitations can be an afternoon project for you and the birthday child to complete together. If you see most of the party guests regularly and are willing to hand-deliver invitations, make large dinosaur eggs. Otherwise, opt for a folded dinosaur that can be mailed to guests.

Folded Dinosaur Invitations
-
1
Draw a large dinosaur shape on a piece of cardboard, and cut it out to use as a stencil for your invitations. Let your child select what type of dinosaur to use.
-
2
Trace around the stencil onto a large roll of paper that accommodates it. Craft paper and wrapping paper are two options.
-
-
3
Cut out enough stenciled dinosaur shapes to have one for each invitation.
-
4
Write the party information in the center of each dinosaur. Let your child decorate the invitation with markers, crayons, stickers or other craft supplies.
-
5
Fold each dinosaur so it fits in an envelope, and mail the invitations to the guests.
Dinosaur Egg Invitations

6
Inflate and tie off a balloon for each invitation.
-
7
Mix flour and water in a bowl to make a paper mache paste.
-
8
Dip torn scraps of newspaper in the paste, and cover each balloon with two to three layers of paper mache. Leave a 2-inch hole at the bottom of the balloon.
-
9
Pop the balloon after the paper mache has dried. You will be left with a large, egg-shaped paper mache shell.
-
10
Write or print the party information on a piece of paper. If you would like, you can make the folded dinosaur invitation so it looks like a dinosaur is coming out of the egg.
-
11
Roll up the invitation, and slip it through the hole in the dinosaur egg.
-
12
Cover the hole of the dinosaur egg with paper mache, and allow it to dry.
-
13
Write "Crack Me Open" on the outside of the dinosaur egg to let guests know that there is something inside.
