How to Erase Your Footprint on a Computer

Every time you browse the Internet on a computer, you leave a digital footprint behind in the form of recorded browser history. This history can allow anyone with access to the computer to see the time and Web address of any websites you have visited. If you would like to erase this footprint from a computer, you may from the "Safety" menu of "Internet Explorer."

      Double-click the "Internet Explorer" icon to open the Web browser, then click the "Safety" drop-down menu located at the top of the screen.

      Click "Delete Browsing History" in the "Safety" drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can press "Ctrl," "Shift," and "Delete" on your keyboard at the same time once "Internet Explorer" is open.

      Check the boxes next to "Temporary Internet Files," "Cookies," "History," and "Form Data," then click "Delete." This will delete your browsing history from you computer.
