Instructions

    • 1

Measure the wall with a measuring tape to determine how long the decorative molding needs to be. Add 1/8 inch to the measurement. Transfer these measurements to the decorative polyurethane molding with a pencil.

    • 2

Cut the polyurethane molding on a miter saw. When dealing with corner cuts, set the miter saw to a 45 degree angle.

    • 3

Apply a bead of polyurethane adhesive along the back of the decorative molding. Set the molding in place. Have a friend hold the molding while you fasten it in place with a brad nailer.

    • 4

Fit the end pieces of the decorative moldings first. When both of the end pieces are in place, install the center pieces of decorative molding.

    • 5

Allow the polyurethane adhesive to dry completely.

    • 6

Fill gaps and nail holes with non-shrinking wood putty. Let the putty dry. Lightly sand the molding with sandpaper. Paint as desired.
