How to Cover Up Liquid Damage on a MacBook
MacBooks can go everywhere with you. Work, school, the library, the park and the coffee shop. So it's easy to see how MacBooks might sometimes come into contact with spilled liquid. If you stained your MacBook and have tried everything from toothpaste to paint thinner to remove the unsightly damage, your last resort is to cover it up. Cover up liquid damage on a MacBook using a nearly invisible, vinyl "bandage."

1
Visit a craft store and look for sheets of plain, self-adhesive vinyl. Look for a color that matches your MacBook.
-
2
Head to a poster and banner printing shop if the craft store does not have the color you need. A poster and banner printing shop can custom print a sheet of self-adhesive vinyl to match the color of your computer.

3
Replace any keys on the keyboard that are damaged. Replacement keys are available from Mac parts suppliers and simply snap into place.
-
4
Clean the MacBook with a wrung-out antibacterial wipe to make sure there is no dirt or grime that can interfere with the adhesion of the vinyl.
-
5
Place the sheet of self-adhesive vinyl on the computer, over the damage. Tape it down to keep it in place. Carefully trace the area to cover up on the vinyl. Remove the vinyl. Cut out the traced shape, using a craft knife or scissors. Use a straightedge to guide the blade when it is necessary to make precise edges.
-
6
Remove the backing on the vinyl shape. Stick the vinyl shape into place on the computer, covering up the blemish.
