Rolled cardboard tubes can be used in crafts projects.

Cardboard tubes can be used for a wide variety of crafts projects, and can usually be found in the center of a roll of paper towels, toilet paper or wrapping paper. If you have an overabundance of basic cardboard boxes, you can create your own cardboard tubes by cutting and rolling the cardboard in a certain way. Instructions

    • 1

Cut a parallelogram from cardboard that measures 24 inches long and 6 inches high. Angle the short sides so that they are parallel to each other and tilted at a 22 degree angle.

    • 2

Curl one of the pointed ends so that it touches the side and creates a circle.

    • 3

Tape the end in place. This will create a spiral with the cardboard.

    • 4

Curl the cardboard along the spiral to create a tube.

    • 5

Place a strip of tape along the spiral to secure it into place.
