You can make headlights flash from dim to bright on any vehicle. There are many reasons why you might want to flash the headlights. Perhaps you want to signal to an oncoming driver to dim his or her headlights. Perhaps you've just passed a police officer and want to signal to passing drivers to slow down. Or perhaps you're in distress and need a passing driver to stop and help you. You should be able to flash your headlights in five easy steps.

Step 1

Locate the light signal on your car. Usually, this is a stick-like device that is located to one side of the steering wheel. Don't confuse this with your turn signal. Typically, the turn signal and light signals are located on opposite sides of the steering wheel.

Step 2

Turn on the lights in your vehicle. This involves different steps, depending on the vehicle, but usually involves turning a dial on your light signal in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion.

Step 3

Pull or push the light signal away from or toward you. Most cars will require you to pull the signal toward you, so try this move first if you're unsure. When you pull or push the signal, you will notice your headlights get brighter.

Step 4

Bring the light signal back to the starting position. The headlights should be at their normal intensity.

Step 5

Continue this pulling or pushing motion of the light signal to flash your headlights as many times as you like.
