How to Replace Toyota Keys With a Chip

Toyota cars around the world feature transponder key technologies that allow you to control the security of your engine starter. With these remotes, also known as chip keys or ignition keys, you can be sure that other keys will not used to start your car. Only a synchronized key can engage your engine after it's programmed. You can replace your Toyota chip keys with reprogrammed keys in just minutes from your car.

Instructions

1. Close all of the doors and the windows of your car and lock and unlock the driver's door with your smart key.

2. Enter the car with one smart key and insert the key into the ignition.

3. Wait for the security light to turn on and leave the key in the ignition without turning it for 15 seconds.

4. Remove the key after 15 seconds and pump the brake pedal five times to exit the programming sequence.
