How to Get 7 Chaos Emeralds in "Sonic Heroes"
In the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox and PC adventure game "Sonic Heroes," you command teams of three characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise to traverse levels, solving puzzles and defeating enemies. Like many Sonic games, you can collect the seven Chaos Emeralds in bonus stages in order to access the final level of the game, called "Last Story."

Play through the even-numbered levels, like Level 2, Level 4 and so on.

Search through the level, and find one of the keys trapped in a cage.

Use your "power" character to free the key from the cage.

Hold the key until the end of the level to enter the Special Stage.

Race through the Special Stage, and collect Power Spheres to perform a Power Dash to continue on through the stage.

Catch a Chaos Emerald in each of the seven even-numbered levels to collect all seven.

Tips & Warnings
The "power" characters in "Sonic Heroes" are Big the Cat, Knuckles the Echidna, E-123 Omega and Vector the Crocodile.
Avoid getting hit once you catch the caged key, or you risk losing the key.
Once in the Special Stage, avoid hitting the spikes, because hitting two spikes will cause the level to end prematurely.
