How to Read an SMS Text

A text message generally consists of up to 160 characters.

Most wireless phones are capable of sending and receiving a short message service, or SMS, text message. The messages are often sent and received within seconds from phone to phone. For many users, a SMS text can be used to communicate without wasting talktime minutes. If you receive an SMS text, you can quickly review the message on your handset. Depending on the model of your wireless phone, the steps may vary slightly.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu/OK" key while on your mobile phone's home screen.

2. Select the "Messaging" or "Messages" folder.

3. Highlight the SMS text message you want to read and press the "Menu/OK" key.

4. Use the "Down" arrow to scroll and review the message. Press the "End" key to exit to the phone's home screen.
