How to Stop Windows Chkdsk
Windows Chkdsk, also known as Windows Check Disk, is a tool created by Microsoft for the purpose of checking the consistency of disks and repairing inconsistencies. When the tool starts to run, it will tell you that you may skip disk checking by pressing any key within 10 seconds. Doing so, however, only stops Chkdsk until the next time you turn on your computer. Disabling Chkdsk is a more permanent solution. Note that the steps described apply to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
