How to Repair the Bissell 6594
The Bissell 6594 is the company's bagless PowerForce vacuum that will clean both carpeting and bare floors. Bissell includes a one-year warranty on its machines when you buy them from a participating retailer. Contact the company when your machine breaks. If your warranty has expired or if it is no longer valid, you can attempt to repair it on your own with a few tools as well as replacement parts. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn off the machine and unplug it. Let it cool off it has overheated.

Step on the handle release bar and lower the handle to the floor.

Turn the machine so that you can access the bottom of the foot of the machine. This will expose the brush.

Lift the tab on the top left of the bottom of the machine. Then, lift the tab on the bottom left, then bottom middle, then bottom right of the machine. This will unlock the brush cover.

Remove the brush cover and set it aside.

Pull out the floor brush. Remove any strings or hair that has wrapped around the brush bar. This buildup can jam the brush bar and cause it to stop working. Use scissors to remove any buildup that you are not able to remove with your fingers.

Inspect the drive belt for breaks. Remove it if it is broken.

Replace the drive belt by wrapping one end around the motor pulley and the other around the ridged end of the floor brush.

Press the brush bar back into the machine.

Put the brush cover back into place by snapping it onto the machine.
