How to Repair ActiveX

ActiveX is software that helps you browse the Internet as you download various applications. ActiveX has full access to the registry program on your computer. During a download, a conflict can occur between ActiveX and another program on your computer, creating errors, corrupt or damaged files, and other issues within the registry. Another danger with ActiveX is that it can give others remote control of your computer without your knowledge, leading to the collection of data without your permission and provide an opening for viruses.

      • 4

Reinstall the program that has the ActiveX error.

      • 5

Increase the security settings to protect from unauthorized access from ActiveX programs.

Clean the registry of ActiveX programs no longer used. Before cleaning the registry, it is recommended to back up the system in the event you accidentally remove an ActiveX program that your system needs to run properly. If you are not comfortable with this process, there are tools on the Internet you can download for free to clean the registry.

Download and install a repair tool for ActiveX. Run the scan. If errors are found, choose to repair and then restart your system.
