How to Clean a Gaggia Espresso Machine

Steam Nozzle

Wipe the exterior of the steam pipe with a damp cloth.

Run steam through the jet by turning the valve knob counterclockwise to release steam.

Insert a needle upward into the nozzle to make sure there are no blockages.
Rest of the Machine

Rinse the filter and filter holder in warm water.

Clean the machine's body with a damp cloth when needed.

Immerse the drip tray and plate in a sink of warm, soapy water. Wipe clean with a cloth, and then rinse with water. Allow to dry before use.

Wipe the brew head seal with a damp cloth.

Unscrew the shower disc and rinse it periodically. Allow to dry before screwing it back into the machine.

Fill the tank with fresh water, and then turn the "Hot Water/Coffee" knob to "1" if the machine hasn't been used for a while. This will remove stale water from the reservoir.

Tips & Warnings
Descale the Gaggia espresso maker every two months, following instructions on the machine descaler package.
