How to Obtain a Criminal Record for Yourself in Oregon

Reasons for obtaining your criminal record can vary significantly. You may want to check the accuracy of your record, you may be seeking clemency or expungement of your record, or your employer may be requesting proof that your criminal history is clear. Whatever the reason, Oregon state law provides both public and private access to criminal records. Further, you can check your federal criminal history record through an FBI National Record Check.

Instructions

Have a fingerprint card created. You will not be able to access your criminal history without a properly rolled fingerprint card created by your local police agency or fingerprinting service. The rolled fingerprints must appear on a special form called "the blue applicant fingerprint card" or FD-258. The fee for having your fingerprints rolled will be around $20, as of 2010.

Complete the Copy of Your Own Record Request form. To complete the form you must provide your full name, aliases, date of birth, Social Security number, mailing address and telephone number.
