How to Clean a Rival CF101B Deep Fryer

Save

Deep fryers have a natural tendency to accumulate grease with use. These should be regularly cleaned not just for fastidiousness, but to prevent the built-up grease from igniting. Rival's line of deep fryers all require the same cleaning procedure, so if you own a Rival deep fryer model other than the CF101B you can follow the same guidelines.

Things You'll Need

  • Damp cloth
  • Soap
  • Grease receptacle
  • Paper towels
  • Pitcher
  • Unplug the fryer and wait for it to cool completely before cleaning.

  • Wipe the exterior of the fryer with a dampened cloth, but avoid abrasive scrub brushes, cleansers or steel wool.

  • Remove the fryer basket and hand wash it in hot, soapy water.

  • Dry the frying basket with paper towels thoroughly.

  • Pour the used grease or oil into a grease receptacle for proper disposal based on your local waste laws.

  • Pat the inside of the fryer with paper towels to absorb excess grease from the interior.

  • Pour a pitcher full of hot soapy water into the fryer, but do not submerge the unit into water or put it under running water.

  • Wipe the insides of the fryer with the soapy water and pour out the cleaning water.

  • Pour several pitchers of clean water into the fryer to rinse until the water poured out of the fryer comes out clean without soap or grease.

  • Pat the inside of the deep fryer dry with paper towels.

  • Replace the basket in the fryer and store it until ready to use. Add fresh oil only when you are ready to cook again.
