Consider your target age group. You must first decide if you would like to teach children, teens or adults. Try also to narrow down your intended audience to a specific grade level, for example fifth graders. Having a picture of the target audience you want to reach will be helpful in planning your lessons.

Decide who you want to work for. If you're a certified teacher, there are many online tutoring companies as well as a few online schools you may want to approach. If you already have a teaching job at a non-online institution, ask your supervisor if it would be possible to branch out into online teaching with the school's support.
