How to Change the Router Password on a Speedstream 2500

The administrator password can be changed easily in the router's settings interface.

Having an administrator password on your Speedstream 5200 modem can help protect against changes being made by unauthorized users. In order to keep the router as secure as possible, it is wise to periodically change the administrator password. Changing the password on a Speedstream can be accomplished from your Internet browser with just a few clicks.

Instructions

1. Open your Internet browser.

2. Type "192.168.1.1" into the address bar and press the "Enter" key.

3. Click on the "Advanced" tab in the router interface and select "Home Networking Modem." Click on "Admin Password."

4. Type your user name into the "User name" field an enter you new password in both the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" text boxes.

5. Click on the "Save Settings" button and close the browser. The password should be successfully changed.
