Nikon Capture NX2 is an editing software program.

Included with Nikon cameras is a software disk designed to help you transfer your digital files from your digital camera to your home computer. Nikon Capture NX2 is an additional program you can buy that works as an image editor. Capture NX2 is designed to work with "NEF," Nikon's version of RAW files. The program is an image editing program with enough features to appeal to photographers at all skill levels.

Instructions

      Install and open the Nikon Capture NX2 software. When opened, the software opens a menu screen. Through this screen you can drag folders or individual images into the program.

      Import images into "Image Browser." Select tags or filters, including stars, to identify and rate your images.

      Open an image by clicking on it. In the Window will be a number of editing options and adjustment tabs. Edit your picture by clicking and holding the slider bar for each editing function. If you are in a hurry, you can also click on the "Quick Fix" tab, which will reveal slider adjustments as well, just not as many, allowing you to quickly edit your image.

      Complete your image edits, and then in the navigation bar, click "File" and "Save As" to save the edits you made to the image. Save the image with a different file name to retain the original for future editing.
