How to Store Ginger Garlic Paste
Ginger and garlic are both common flavors in Indian cuisine. To avoid the necessity of peeling, slicing and preparing fresh ginger and garlic every time you wish to cook Indian food, make or buy a ginger garlic paste. A jar of this paste can be a good investment even if you do not cook Indian food frequently; you can store it for several weeks in the refrigerator or several months in the freezer. Things You'll Need
- Spoon
- Glass or plastic container with airtight lid
- Plastic wrap (optional)
- Rubber band (optional)

Spoon the ginger garlic paste into your glass or plastic container. Use the spoon to press the paste into the container firmly. As you do this, try to release any large air bubbles or pockets from the container.

Place the lid onto your container and seal it securely, making it as airtight as possible. If your lid is not airtight or if you have lost it, cover the container tightly with plastic wrap and seal with a rubber band instead.

Put the container in your refrigerator if you will use the ginger garlic paste within two to three weeks. Put the container into your freezer if you will not. The ginger garlic paste will keep its flavor for several months in the freezer.

Tips & Warnings
Separate the ginger garlic paste into smaller portions and freeze them individually for best results. This way you will not need to thaw and freeze the paste repeatedly. Instead, you can simply remove one portion from your freezer whenever you wish to use it.
