How to Word 1990s Themed Invitations
Throwing a 1990s theme party wouldn't be quite as fun without sending out invitations to match the event. The best way to present a 1990s party theme invitation is to come up with a creatively worded party invitation that incorporates the lingo of the times. Using words and phrases particular to the '90s will take your guests back in time and help put them in the frame of mind for a return to the last decade before the 21st century. 1
Write a list of words or phrases you remember from the 1990s. There are lists available online that can help you recall some of the best. (See Resources below.) Some of the words or phrases you might use include "beans" (money), "brutal" (meaning bad), "buzz kill" (which you'll promise your party won't be) and "dawg" (friend). Use this list as a guide when you create your invitations.

Write a recognizable word or phrase on the front of your invitation that will get your prospective guests to pay attention immediately. Start with something like P.H.A.T (pretty hot and tempting). Write something along the lines of: I'm inviting my P.H.A.T friends to a party . . .

Complete the inside of the invitation with something that follows through with the front of the invitation, similar to the punch line of a joke. For the P.H.A.T example, something like "and you're one of the lucky dawgs I'm talking to." Another example of this type of wording might be to write "Talk to the hand" on the front of the invitation (another 1990s phrase) and "because the rest of me will be at the party" on the inside.
