How to Import Aircraft to Flight Simulator X Deluxe

"Flight Simulator X" features realistic flight simulation and 55 different missions for Windows-based PCs. Several aircraft are already available, but you can import aircraft from previous versions as well. You need to know a few steps to import your desired aircraft, and a familiarity with the basics of computer game folders is also helpful to complete the requirements without incident.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a new folder outside of the "Flight Simulator" directory for downloads. Click the file you are looking to import and save it to your new folder.

    • 2

Open this new folder and right click on the file. Choose "Extract to folder" to unzip this file into your new folder. Click the "+" sign of the aircraft you would like to install from the new folder.

    • 3

Ensure that the folder contains four sub-folders: "Model," "Panel," "Sound" and "Texture." Open another window and navigate to the original "Flight Simulator X" folder. Drag the folder with the imported aircraft into the folder for "Flight Simulator X" marked "aircraft" to complete the import.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't see the four needed sub-folders in your file, try to unzip the file again. If it still doesn't work, the file may be corrupted and you won't be able to import the aircraft.
