How to Get a Pay Per Call Number

Pay-per-call phone numbers have many applications: business, political campaigns, delivery of technical information, customer service and other information delivery services. Before setting up a pay-per-call number, you should make certain decisions about how the number will be advertised and how the fees will be structured and billed. Before selecting a company to provide your pay-per-call service, decide if you prefer a service that charges a low setup or activation fee and a recurring monthly fee, or if you prefer to pay a higher activation fee and incur no monthly charges.

   You get paid for 900 number revenues after your customers pay their telephone bill.

   Choose between an 800 number and a 900 number for your pay-per-call service delivery. Customers who access pay-per-call services via 800 numbers pay for the services using credit or debit cards. If you set up an 800 number for your pay-per-call services, your revenues are deposited into your account monthly. If you set up a 900 number for your pay-per-call services, customers are billed for your services through their telephone company, with charges appearing on their telephone bills. Payment is made to your business within 90 days from the date of the incurred charges.

2. Select a provider. Consider setup fees, monthly fees, payment schedules and call reporting procedures.

3. Work with your provider to establish a preamble--your greeting and message regarding your service and charges--and your service delivery. Some companies offer turnkey packages that take your product and handle all aspects of your pay-per-call business for you.
