How to Delete Tabbed Browsing

Internet Explorer allows users to browse multiple websites in one open window through tabbed browsing. The feature enables a new browser window to be opened in a "tab" that is part of the original window. If you do not like the tabbed feature, you can disable it by configuring the options in the "Tabs" section of the Internet Options utility in Internet Explorer.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Internet Explorer. Click "Tools" from the menu, then select "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu. The Internet Options window will open.

    • 2

Click the "General" tab, then click "Settings" in the "Tabs" section.

    • 3

Deselect the check box next to "Enable Tabbed Browsing," then click the "OK" button. Click "OK" again, then restart Internet Explorer. The tabbed browsing feature will be inactive.
