TomTom is a family of global position system (GPS) navigators. The TomTom navigator provides turn-by-turn driving directions and also displays a vehicle position on the map. Keeping TomTom maps up to date improves in accuracy of directions and route planning. Use freely available TomTom software to update maps on your GPS navigator.

      Download the TomTom HOME software using the link in Resources.

      Double-click on the downloaded setup file and select "Install" to install the TomTom software on your computer.

      Connect the TomTom navigator to the computer's USB port using the data cable.

      Turn on your GPS TomTom device.

      Press "Yes" on the TomTom screen to make a connection. It automatically launches the TomTom HOME software.

      Click the button "Update and Install" in the TomTom HOME program window to install available map updates.

    • 7

      Click the "Done" button to finish updating.

    • 8

      Click the "Disconnect Device" button in the program window and then disconnect the TomTom data cable from your computer.
