How to Reset the Theft-Alarm System on a 2009 Hyundai Elantra

Save

The 2009 Hyundai Elantra is equipped with a theft-alarm system designed to protect against unauthorized entry into the car. The system can become disarmed under certain circumstances. Once the system has been disarmed, it must be reset to become armed and protect against unauthorized access into the Elantra. The alarm system can only be reset using the keyless remote.

Things You'll Need

  • Keyless entry remote
  • Park the Elantra. Turn off the engine.

  • Remove the key from the ignition.

  • Close all doors. Close the hood and trunk.

  • Press the "Lock" button on the keyless entry remote. The hazard warning lights blink once to indicate the system has been reset and armed.
