How to Repair a Bissell Little Green Machine

Save

Bissell Little Green deep cleaning machines can help you keep your floors and carpets clean and looking new. The machine sprays solution and water onto the floor while you work it into the floor with a turbo brush attachment. The machine then sucks up the dirty solution, leaving your floor clean and relatively dry. Your regular cleaning schedule can get disturbed, however, if your machine is not working properly. Luckily, there are several steps you can take to fix the machine. Always make sure that your warranty is out of date to save you time and money and to avoid the risk of voiding a current warranty by making repairs yourself.

Things You'll Need

  • Water
  • Long-handled brush

Machine Is Not Spraying

  • Turn off the machine and unplug it. Let it cool off if it has overheated. The machine may not be spraying because there is a clog in the hose or solution tank. You'll need to remove the clogs to proceed.

  • Remove the spray nozzle by depressing the two tabs on either side of the base of the tool and pulling it from the hose.

  • Rinse the spray nozzle to remove any clogs. Press it back into the hose.

  • Remove the solution tank by pulling on the handle and lifting it out.

  • Pour the solution into a bowl and rinse out the entire tank with clear water.

  • Use a long-handed brush to remove clogs from the outlet at the bottom of the tank.

  • Pour the solution back into the tank and put the tank back in the machine.

Machine Is Not Picking Up Solution

  • Turn off the machine and unplug it. If the machine is not picking up solution, it may be because the collection tank is already full. In this case, you will need to empty the collection tank.

  • Grasp the collection tank handle and tilt it from the front of the machine. Pull it up to remove it. The collection tank is the translucent white tank on the left side of the front of the machine.

  • Fill the collection tank with clear water. This will help dilute the dirty water and make it run down your drain easier.

  • Mix the clean water with the dirty water and pour it down the drain.

  • Put the empty collection tank back into the Little Green Machine.
