How to Fix a Jensen-Powered Subwoofer Fuse

How to Fix a Jensen-Powered Subwoofer Fuse thumbnail
Jensen-powered subs use fuses like these.

Powered subwoofers consist of an amplifier and a subwoofer, mounted in the same enclosure. Powered subwoofers, like the kind Jensen produces, are useful in car applications where space is limited. They are provided with user-accessible fuses for overload protection. You can change these quickly, if necessary.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull out the original fuse from the end panel of the amplifier. If the fuse is tight, grasp it with a set of pliers.

    • 2

Purchase a replacement fuse at an auto parts store or electronics parts retailer. Note the fuse rating, which is marked on the fuse, and the style of fuse. Jensen uses a regular blade-style fuse, sometimes called an ATO fuse.

    • 3

Insert the new fuse. Simply line up the metal blades with the opening and push it in firmly until it is securely seated in the fuse slot.
