How to Make a Calendar on the Internet
There are many advantages to creating a calendar on the Internet. Your calendar is accessible to you anywhere you can access the Internet. Most of the popular Internet calendar applications allow users to sync their calendars to their mobile phones and home computers. Most of them also have additional time management and productivity tools such as reminders and to-do lists. Fortunately, creating a calendar online is straightforward and easy with a free calendar creation service.

Register for a free Gmail account. Google's Gmail service bundle provides one of the best free online calendar tools on the Internet. Visit the Gmail home page, click the "Create an Account" button on the right side of the screen. Follow the easy on-screen instructions to create a free account within minutes.

Open a new Google Calendar. While logged into your new Gmail account, click the "Calendar" link across the top menu. A new browser tab or window will open with Google Calendar.

Customize your calendar. Fill in your name, timezone and other personal details. You can set your calendar to be completely private, so you can use your real name if you want. Click "continue" to go to your new calendar. Customize your new calendar even further by clicking "Settings" on the upper right, selecting "Calendar Settings" and configuring the details to your liking. Configure it to sync with your mobile device by clicking "Mobile Setup" in this screen.

Sort the calendar to your preferred view. To see each day separately, click the "Day" tab on the upper right. You can also sort your schedule weekly, monthly, by four-day snapshot, and by quick summary of your important upcoming events ("Agenda") using the tabs on the upper left of the calendar.

Add events to your calendar. Navigate to the desired day with the tabs and arrows on the top of the calendar. Click on the block next to the start time of the event, and filling in the details. You can only highlight a one-hour block with a single mouse click, so drag your cursor over multiple time blocks to create an event that lasts longer than an hour. Type the name of the event in the "What:" field. Click "Create Event" to create the event, or click the "Edit Event Details" to add even more detail to your event.

Add recurring tasks to your calendar. For non-specific dates and events, click "Add" under the "Tasks" widget on the left menu and follow the on-screen instructions to create a sophisticated to-do list.
