How to Save a Web Page With Images

Save that web page so you can view it offline.

Web pages are actually many documents joined together by an HTML file. The file contains code and text, and links to images and other files that make the Web page function. Unless the page contains complicated programs or videos, you can save it along with the images in a folder on your hard drive. Then you can view it when you aren't connected with the Internet, share it with someone or use the images for a project. And if you can print the page, you can save it as a PDF file with simple, free PDF conversion software.

Instructions

  1. Save the Files

    • 1

Visit the Web page you want to save using either Internet Explorer or Firefox, two popular Web browsers.

    • 2

Click on the "Page" button in Internet Explorer, or the "File" menu in Firefox. The "Page" button is on the left, near the top of the Internet Explorer window, and the "File" menu is at the top left corner of the Firefox window.

    • 3

Select "Save as" in Internet Explorer, or "Save Page As" in Firefox.

    • 4

Click on the file type drop-down menu near the bottom of the file save dialog box, and select "Webpage, complete." Choose a folder on your computer where the files should be saved.

    • 5

      Click on the "Save" button.

    Save as PDF

    • 6

Download and install Go2PDF or a similar print-to-PDF software, if you don't already have one installed. This software converts any document into a PDF file, instead of printing it, when you select "Virtual PDF Printer" as the printer in the printer options dialog box.

    • 7

Open the Web page you want to save in Internet Explorer or Firefox.

    • 8

Select "Print" from the "File" menu. Click on the list of printers in the "Print" dialog box and select "Virtual PDF Printer" from the list of available printers. Click on the "OK" button. Instead of printing, a dialog box will come up, letting you save the Web page as a PDF file.

    • 9

Type a file name in the "Save File" dialog box that comes up, and select a folder on your computer where the file will be saved. Click on the "Save" button to save the PDF file.
