The characters from the popular children's television show "Sesame Street" are a hit with kids of all ages. A Sesame Street themed birthday party is an excellent way to help your child celebrate his special day with all of his favorite characters. To get the party started the right way, send out Sesame Street themed invitations to all of your child's friends. You can easily create your own customized invitations with Microsoft Paint and print them out yourself.

      Search the internet for small sized images or clip art featuring the characters from Sesame Street. Right-click on your desired image to open it and choose "Save as" to save it to a file on your computer.

      Open Microsoft Paint by clicking on the "Start" icon, followed by "Programs", "Accessories" and "Paint."

      Reset the canvas size to 5-by-7 inches by clicking on "Image" and "Attributes." Fill in the dimensions and make sure the "Units" section is set to inches.

      Select a color from the color palette and fill the canvas by clicking on the "paint bucket" icon.

      Add the "Sesame Street" image to the invitation by clicking on "Edit" and "Paste from," which allows you to retrieve the image from a file on your computer. Click "Open" and the image will appear on the invitation.

      Add text by clicking on the "A" icon. Select your choice of font and color.

      Save the invitation to your computer when it is completed by clicking on "File" and "Save as."

      Print out as many copies of the invitations as you need, directly from Microsoft Paint. Click on "File," select "Print" and fill in the space labeled "Number of copies" accordingly. Click "Print" to begin the printing process.

      Cut the invitations out from the paper and stuff into envelopes. Seal.

      Fill out the addresses for each guest on the front of the envelopes, attach stamps and mail. Alternatively, you can deliver them by hand or give them to your child's teacher to distribute in class.

Tips & Warnings

  • When adding the text for the invitations, include vital information such as your address, the time and date of the event and contact details so that guests can RSVP.
