How to Delete Auto Fill Data

Auto Fill enters information into website form fields automatically. This feature is useful when purchasing items online or automatically logging into websites. Using Auto Fill eliminates the need to type in your name, address, website logins and credit-card information. Before you can use Auto Fill, your information must be saved into the Auto Fill feature. When your information changes, your information must be updated or deleted. Each website browser provides a type of Auto Fill or AutoComplete feature.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • Open Internet Explorer.

  • Select "Tools" on the top menu bar. Choose "Internet Options" from the list.

  • Select the "Content" tab. Click the "Settings" button located under the "AutoComplete" header.

  • Click the "Delete AutoComplete History" button.

  • Check the box next to "Form Data" and "Passwords." Click the "Delete" button. Click "OK" to exit.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Open Mozilla Firefox.

  • Click "Tools" on the menu. Choose "Options" from the list.

  • Select the "Security" tab. Click the "Saved Passwords" button.

  • Select a site and click the "Remove" button. Click the "Remove All" button to delete all saved information. Click "Close" and then "OK."

Apple Safari

  • Open Apple Safari.

  • Click "Edit" on the top menu. Choose "Preferences" from the list.

  • Select the "AutoFill" tab.

  • Click the "Edit" button next to "User name and passwords."

  • Select your site, and click the "Remove" button. Click the "Remove All" button to delete all saved information. Click the "Done" button.

Google Chrome

  • Open Google Chrome.

  • Click the "Customize and Control Google Chrome" button. The icon for this button is a wrench. Click "Options" from the list.

  • Select the "Personal Stuff" tab. Click "Autofill Options."

  • Select an address or credit-card profile. Click "Remove." Click "Close" to exit.
