How to Get Your Phone to Go on the Internet When It's Out of Minutes thumbnail
You can access the Internet even if you run out of minutes on your phone.

Many modern cell phones have Internet capability, whether it's one of the primary functions, as it is for a smart phone, or a secondary function for flip phones. There's no need to worry about accessing the Internet if you run out of minutes on your cell phone plan, because the Internet is part of your data plan and has no connection to your phone's available minutes. The only trick to accessing the Internet is finding out how to do so on your phone.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your phone. Make sure the battery indicator is at least 25 percent full; if it's not, plug the phone into its charger. Accessing the Internet eats a lot of your phone's battery life.

    • 2

Click the "Internet" or "Browser" icon. Most "Internet" or "Browser" icons for smart phones are located on the home screen of the phone. If you do not use a smart phone, click the "Menu" button on your phone; you should see the icon somewhere on the main menu.

    • 3

Click "OK" if a warning screen appears and alerts you about data usage. Your phone's native Internet browser will appear, and you can begin browsing.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not have a data plan, you will incur data charges. Charges vary for each provider, and also depend on how long you browse the Internet, and what kind of data you download.
