How do I Block Website Buying?
Domain names are the ways in which we identify and locate websites on a Web browser. Webmasters purchase them through domain name registrars for a predetermined set of time, usually at least one year. When that domain name expires, other users may purchase the domain name and transfer it into their ownership, possibly even to another registrar. They may also make changes to your domain registry information. Website owners can block the buying and transfer of their domain names by locking the domain from within the registrar control panel.

1
Log in to your account at the registrar where you purchased your domain name. Use the username and password you selected at the time of registration. If you no longer have it, contact the registrar and follow the steps to have it resent.

2
Open the control panel for the domain name you wish to lock. Typically, the landing page when logging in to your registrar will display a list of the domain names you own. Opening the control settings for an individual domain name often only involves clicking on it from the list.

Lock your domain name. Click on the "Lock/Unlock" settings in the control panel. They may look slightly different, depending on the registrar with which the domain is registered, so just look for the option labeled "Lock" or "Block" and click on it. The next screen will show you the options to lock or unlock your domain name; click the button next to "Lock" and save your changes. Within a few minutes to a few hours, your domain name will be locked and other users will not be able to transfer, change or buy it without your express permission.

Tips & Warnings
To protect your domain from potential theft or fraud even past its expiration date, register it with a domain registrar that blocks website buying past the domain expiration, such as GoDaddy.com.
