How to Freeze Columns
Excel spreadsheets store numbers, dates and currency in tables consisting of rows and columns. Because Excel documents are designed to hold a large amount of information, row labels may become hidden from view when you scroll to the right to view the later columns in a spreadsheet. You must then scroll back to see which row of data you are looking in. If you freeze the column containing the labels, they will remain on the screen regardless of how far you scroll away.
