In common usage, it refers to a variety of spiritually based, psychic capabilities, or powers, that can manifest themselves in adherents of Buddhism and Hinduism. In the scripture of these religions, it implies that these capabilities are only attainable by Buddhists or Hindus, but by anyone who has achieved the requisite degree of spiritual cultivation. Some reported siddhis are the ability to walk on water, the ability to fly, and the ability to becomes invisible. Adherents say these are not "supernatural" abilities that defy the laws of nature, but rather come from an expanded psychological awareness of nature itself.
