How to Cannon Rush in Starcraft 2
In real-time strategy games like Blizzard's "Starcraft 2," "rushing" is a strategy where a player attempts to win the game early with an all-out attack. As in the original "Starcraft," catching your opponent unprepared for a rush can end the game. Protoss players are able to cannon rush by building photon cannons, a defensive building, within the other player's base. However, cannon rushing is risky, and you leave yourself open to a counterattack if it fails.

1
Start all your probes mining when the game starts. Build three more as you get resources.
-
2
Build a pylon with your ninth probe and send it to your opponent's base. On larger maps, you may need to scout multiple locations (which will make it harder to rush effectively).
-
-
3
Construct a forge when you have enough minerals. A forge is required to build photon cannons.
-
4
Build an additional pylon within or very near your opponent's base. On some maps, your opponent's minerals are close to the edge of a cliff. You can hide your pylon below the cliff, which makes it hard to reach and destroy, or you can tuck it into an unseen corner of their base.
-
5
Start warping in a photon cannon as soon as the pylon finishes. If you opted to build the pylon below a cliff, put the cannon below as well. Build a second cannon closer to the enemy base if possible.
-
6
Make more pylons and build cannons inward and surround your opponent. He will have to use his workers to stop you. If your cannons finish building, his workers will die quickly. Surround him with cannons and finish off his base to win the game.
