Fruit seed oil, such as grape seed oil, is high in essential fatty acids, Vitamin E and linoleic acid. Whether you are interested in using the oil in cooking or for skin and hair care, fruit seed oil contains several nourishing benefits which vary from fruit to fruit. Instructions

    • 1

Clean the fruit seeds thoroughly by rinsing any dust or debris that may be attached to them.

    • 2

Preheat oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 3

Sprinkle your seeds onto the baking sheet. There should just be a single layer of seeds on the sheet.

    • 4

Place your baking sheet into the oven and heat for 30 minutes. Warmed seeds will yield more oil than cold. Remove from the oven after 30 minutes.

    • 5

Place your bowl under the spout of your expeller press to collect the oil runoff.

    • 6

Pour enough seeds into the seed hopper until it is 3/4 full. Turn the machine on if you are using an electric model or crank the handle if you are using a manual model.

    • 7

Collect the oil in your bowl and monitor the seeds to ensure they are feeding into the press properly. You may need to push the seeds down or scrape the sides down to keep the press expelling steadily.

    • 8

Continue adding seeds until you have pressed all of them. Transfer the oil from your collecting bowl to your storage jar and close tightly.

    • 9

Check the oil the following day. Separation may have occurred if there was any water or other materials present. Simply pour the oil off the surface of the water and store.
