How to Block Your Phone Number When Calling a Collection Agency thumbnail
It is simple to block your phone number.

You may not want to reveal your phone number when you're contacting collection agencies or similar organizations. Some companies block withheld numbers, meaning you'll have to try an alternate contact method, such as calling via Skype. But, in general, it's easy to block your number on a cell phone or landline.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the number of the agency you are calling. If the company has an 800 number, then your blocked call will be rejected.

    • 2

Dial "*" then "67" followed by the number of the collection agency. This will block your number.

    • 3

Hang up when you have finished the call.

Tips & Warnings

  • Call blocking does not work if you are calling an emergency number such as 911.
