How to Reset the Homepage Password in the HP System Management
The HP Management System homepage is a web-based interface designed to simplify the management of HP servers running a Windows or Linux operating system. The management system can manage small, large or enterprise-sized networks. Through the HP Management System authorized users can make changes system data and software. The system does require authorized users to enter a password in order to manage the system. If you no longer have this password, you can reset it.

Open the desktop Start menu and select the "Computer/My Computer" folder.

Select the "C: drive."

Double-click the "Compaq" folder. Double-click the "wbem" folder inside of it.

Double-click the "homepage" folder. Right-click "cpqhmmd.ini" and select to open the file with Notepad.

Write down the original values. Change the values in "cpqhmmd.ini" to "True," except SleepMode which should be "False." The values should look like:

AnonymousAccess=True
LocalSecurityAccess=True
SleepModeCheck=False
Save the file to the same directory. Don't change the file name

Right-click the "cpqhmmdx.ini" file in Notepad from the same "homepage" folder as the previous file. Write down the original values. Change the values to "True" and "Administrator."

LocalAccessType=Administrator
Save the file to the same directory. Don't change the file name.

Restart the HP computer. The computer will log you in as the administrator. Change the password when prompted. Go back into the same directory and reopen the cpqhmmdx.ini and cpqhmmd.ini files. Enter the original values and save the files again so you can use your new password to log in.
