How to Make Deposits at Foreign ATMs
If you can't make it to the bank during normal banking hours, you can deposit money using an ATM machine and your ATM card. You can, in some cases, make an ATM deposit at a machine not associated with your bank, known as a foreign ATM. To make the deposit, your bank must allow foreign ATM machine deposits and your ATM card must be in the same network as the machine.

1
Call your bank and ask if you can make deposits in foreign ATM machines. Call the customer service phone number, located on the back of your ATM card, and speak with a representative.
-
2
Compare the ATM networks listed on your ATM card and the machine. To make a deposit into a foreign ATM machine, your card must be compatible with the machine. Star, Cirrus, PLUS and NYCE are common ATM networks.

3
Put your deposit in the envelope and fill out the necessary information on the envelope. Each bank has a unique envelope, but many require you to write your name, the deposit amount and your ATM card number on it.
-
4
Insert your card into the foreign ATM machine and follow the prompts to make a deposit. Because you are making a deposit in a foreign ATM machine, you may have to pay bank fees from both your bank and the bank that owns the ATM machine. Press the button on the ATM machine to indicate you have been informed of the fee and accept it. Select the option to have a receipt printed to document the transaction.
-
5
Insert the deposit envelope into the ATM machine. Follow the instructions on the screen or machine to insert the envelope into the machine.
-
6
Take your receipt so you have a record of the deposit, in case there's an error or your deposit isn't recorded correctly.
