How to Hide Webwatcher From Spyware Checks

Anti-malware products such as Spybot: Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware or Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can scan your computer and remove infections from spyware and other malicious software. Occasionally, these programs may return a false positive and the infections list will include a legitimate entry such as Webwatcher, a program that administrators install to monitor computer usage and keystrokes. You can instruct your anti-spyware program to ignore entries during future scans so that other users do not detect Webwatcher.

Instructions

  1. Spybot

    • 1

Launch Spybot on your computer and click the "Check for Problems" button to perform a scan.

    • 2

Locate the Webwatcher entry after the program has finished scanning and right-click it to open a context menu.

    • 3

Click the option to "Exclude this product from further searches."

    • 9
