How to Use RandomRing on an iPhone

Save

RandomRing is an iPhone application that randomizes your ringtones for incoming calls. The application is only available on jail broken phones that have the Cydia application repository installed. If you have a jail broken phone with Cydia, installing the application takes only a few minutes. Once you have installed the application, you can begin using RandomRing to play random ringtones and other audio files from a central ringtone folder whenever you receive a call.

Install RandomRing

  • Tap the Cydia icon on your iPhone home screen.

  • Tap "Sections" and then tap "Multimedia."

  • Tap "RandomRing" and then tap "Install." You will need to confirm installation by tapping "Confirm." Cydia will display installation progress and will notify you when the application is ready for usage.

Use RandomRing

  • Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes.

  • Select the "Ringtones" section.

  • Select a ringtone from the list of available ringtones.

  • Right-click on the ringtone and select "Get Info."

  • Change the name of the ringtone to "RandomRing" and then press "OK."

  • Sync the ringtones to your iPhone by selecting the iPhone icon in iTunes and then clicking the "Sync" button at the bottom right.

  • Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPhone.

  • Tap "Sounds."

  • Tap "Ringtone" to select a new ringtone and then select "RandomRing." Because you have installed the RandomRing application, your iPhone will select an audio file randomly from your ringtone collection any time you receive a call.
