How to Run the Skype Application on a Phone
Skype is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) application that is compatible with a wide variety of mobile phones. Because Skype relies on Internet access to connect calls with Skype users, landlines, mobile phones and international numbers, it is a requirement that the phone have a 3G connection or that it is capable of connecting to wireless Internet networks. The Skype mobile application is designed to work with a variety of Verizon smartphones, the iPhone, Android-based phones and Symbian-based phones.

Tap the "App Store" icon on your home screen.

Tap "Search" and enter "Skype."

Select "Skype."

Tap "Free" and then "Install" to install the application. You will need to enter your iPhone password to continue.

Tap the "Skype" icon on your home screen and log in to your Skype account to begin using Skype.
Android

Tap the "Market" icon on your home screen.

Tap "Search" and enter "Skype."

Tap "Skype."

Tap "Install." You may need to enter your Android password to continue.

Tap the "Skype" icon on your home screen to log in to your Skype account and begin using the application.
Other Phones

Launch your mobile phone Web browser.

Navigate to Skype Mobile (see Resources).

Select your country, enter your telephone number and then click "Next."

Click "Install" and Skype Mobile will be installed on your phone.

Launch Skype Mobile once it is installed and enter your user name and password to begin using Skype.
