Instructions

    • 1

Apply a drop of mild dish detergent to the stain. Allow the detergent to penetrate the stain for five minutes.

    • 2

Scrub the detergent into the stain in small, circular motions. Create a thick lather and work the soap deep into the pottery.

    • 3

Rinse the soap from the pottery with warm water.

    • 4

Sprinkle enough baking soda over the stain to completely cover it. The baking soda should cover the entire stain in a thick layer.

    • 5

Drizzle vinegar over the baking soda until you have created a paste. Allow to remain for 10 minutes.

    • 6

Scrub the baking soda-vinegar mixture into the stain using a deep rubbing motion.

    • 7

Rinse the paste from your pottery.

    • 8

Slice the lemon in half. Take half of the lemon and rub it directly into the stain. The lemon juice should draw the smell out of the stain while lifting the discoloration.

    • 9

Allow the lemon juice to remain on the pottery for five minutes, then rinse with warm water.
