How to Disable CoverFlow on an iPhone

Save

Cover Flow is a display mode used by the iPhone audio player when the device is held in landscape orientation. Instead of showing the user's music in a file list, the cover art is displayed and you can navigate the music by swiping across the iPhone to browse your albums. This mode may not be the most convenient if you use the iPhone to listen to music while driving or exercising. You can disable the Cover Flow display mode when using the audio player by locking the screen orientation to vertical.

  • Double-press the iPhone "Home" button.

  • Swipe the taskbar interface to the right.

  • Tap the orientation lock icon located to the far left of the taskbar interface. The orientation lock icon is a circular arrow. With orientation locked to portrait, the iPhone's audio application will not switch to Cover Flow when held horizontally.
