BitDefender is an anti-virus software suite designed to protect computers from malicious software both online and offline. BitDefender uses Windows services, which run in the background, to help ensure the software is running correctly and to perform its normal tasks. When a service fails to run, it jeopardizes the security of the system. Action should be taken immediately to correct the problem by restarting the services--manually if necessary.
Restart your computer. This may be all that is necessary to restart BitDefender's services. If they do not start continue to Step 2.
Open Windows' service control panel by hitting the Windows key on your keyboard plus "R." Type "services.msc" in the text field and press "Enter."
Look under the Name column in the Services window for any entry that mentions BitDefender. Right-click on each entry and select "Restart." It will take a moment to start each service.
