How to Install ActiveX for All Users

ActiveX allows you to view websites with video, graphics and audio, such as YouTube. Internet Explorer may prompt you to install ActiveX when you travel to one of these websites. If you are the administrator of your desktop computer or laptop, you can install ActiveX for all of the users in your household. Repeat the steps to install ActiveX on additional computers in your home.

  • Turn on your computer and sign in under "Administrator." Enter your password, if necessary.

  • Click on the Windows icon, located in the bottom left-hand corner. Point your mouse on "All Programs" and click Internet Explorer. Click the "Tools" menu. Select "Internet Options," "Security," "Custom Level."

  • Navigate halfway down to "ActiveX controls and plug-ins." Select "Enable" for all of the prompts. Click "OK." Click on "Yes" in the warning window.

  • Click "Apply" and "OK" in the last window. You now have ActiveX installed for all users.
