How to Customize a Wedding Program thumbnail
Customizing a wedding program will keep your guests from wondering about the schedule.

Wedding programs are functional during your event and serve as decorative souvenirs. Customize your wedding program to reinforce the theme of your wedding and to guide guests through your ceremony and reception. A wedding program can provide guests with background information on cultural or religious elements in the ceremony and bring a polished formality to your wedding without making a dent in your budget.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a word processing software like Microsoft Word.

    • 2

Find a wedding program template that suits your needs whether you plan to include a lot of text or a clean schedule with a single image.

    • 3

Download the chosen template for your wedding program. The template will open into a new document once the download is complete.

    • 4

Replace the template's text with your own information. Select the text you want to replace and type it with your name and your partner's name. Give your wedding a title if you'd like or simply call it "your name and his name wedding". Include the wedding date beneath your names.

    • 5

Select your text and adjust the font, font size and font color to your preferences.

    • 6

Go through the template and enter the key information for your wedding, including schedule and locations of cocktails, meal and entertainment.

    • 7

Insert any extras you want to include. On the cover or back of your wedding program, you may want to include a photo from your first date, a favorite poem or tribute to a loved one who has passed away.

    • 8

Click on "Page Layout" to modify your margins and spacing or to add a background or border to your program.

    • 9

Ask a friend or your fiance to proofread the document for spelling and grammar errors. Select "Spelling and Grammar" from the "Review" tab and do a second or third spell check.

    • 10

Go to "Save as" under "File" and save your customized wedding program.

    • 11

Print your program using your special paper. Select "Print Preview" to review your wedding program one final time. Click "Print" when you're ready. If the program is two-sided, flip the printed paper over to print the back side.

    • 12

Fold each program with care. Line up the edges and smooth the creases.
