The Kinesio tape is applied to particular points of the body to treat ailments such as temporomandibular joint disorder and turf toe. Removing Kinesio Tex Tape can be accomplished at home with the use of lotions or oils to cut down any skin discomfort.

Instructions

      Cover the Kinesio Tex Tape with a layer of olive oil, water, hand lotion or baby oil. Allow the lubricant to soak into the tape for five to 10 minutes.

      Pull the tape off slowly with one hand in the direction of hair growth.

      Press down on the skin that was under the tape with the fingers of your other hand.

      Rub the skin that was covered with the Kinesio tape. This helps reduce some of the pain and sensitivity associated with the tape's removal.

      Dispose of the used Kinesio tape in a trash can.
