How to Speed Up a CD ROM in Vista
Microsoft Windows Vista provides Microsoft standard driver support for most of the CD/DVD drives available. CD/DVD drive vendors occasionally offer their own Vista drivers when a drive supports an enhanced set of features. Whether the CD/DVD drive is supported by Microsoft standard drivers or vendor-supplied drivers that provide an enhanced feature set, the CD/DVD drive may experience performance issues due to hardware configurations not related to the driver. Use the Device Manager utility in Windows Vista to resolve performance issues and speed up a CD/DVD drive.
